NASA's SLS Missions to the Moon and Mars

The NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) usable for both, crew and cargo, is heavily based on developments for the NASA Constellation Program (CxP)'s human-rated Ares I & exclusively cargo-lifting Ares V launch vehicles. Artemis missions will reestablish human presence on the Moon and pave the way for targetting Mars. The first one, the uncrewed Moon-orbiting mission Artemis I NASA's Artemis I, formerly Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1), served as the first integrated flight test of NASA's Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) spacecraft and NASA's Space Launch System (SLS).
